PortMiami will have a busy cruise season in 2026/2027. On 81 occasions, the port is expected to simultaneously welcome between seven and ten ships at its terminals. December will be one of the busiest months, with more than ten days when nine or ten vessels will be docked at the same time.
Traffic is expected to be especially intense on weekends, when the port will handle some of the season’s largest operations.
Large ships will drive traffic at PortMiami

Among the ships that will contribute to the increased traffic are Icon of the Seas, from Royal Caribbean International, with capacity for 5,610 guests, and MSC World America, from MSC Cruises, which can accommodate around 5,400 travelers.
In addition to the large ships, the schedule will include inaugural calls by vessels from different segments of the industry, including luxury companies and new yacht brands.
Among the planned first visits are those by L’Austral, from Ponant Explorations; Explora III, from Explora Journeys; OE Corinthian, from Orient Express Sailing Yachts; and Ilma, from The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection.

The port will also welcome Emerald Sakara, from Emerald Cruises; Four Seasons I, from Four Seasons Yachts; and different Silversea ships for the first time.
New ships will have Miami as their homeport

Starting in 2027, three large vessels will begin operating regular departures from Miami. Beachcomber, from Margaritaville at Sea, will make its global debut at the port in January.
In February, Carnival Firenze, from Carnival Cruise Line, will arrive after being repositioned from the U.S. West Coast. The ship will operate a season from Miami through mid-May.
Two new ships will also begin operations in the city: Norwegian Aura, from Norwegian Cruise Line, in June, and Hero of the Seas, from Royal Caribbean International, in August.

Port prepares plan to organize access
Given the projected increase in traffic, PortMiami has introduced a traffic management plan developed in partnership with cruise lines and other entities involved in operations.
The proposal brings together traveler guidance initiatives, the use of Artificial Intelligence-based technology, and complimentary transfers between the airport and port on select cruises.
The measures aim to organize access to the terminals on the busiest days and make guests’ arrival at the port more efficient during the 2026/2027 season.
